The question in my mind is this: what is it about newly fallen snow that touches us? That has our heart pound a little as our body takes in a deeper breath?
The weather prediction was 25-30 cm of snow to fall overnight. I got up in the middle of the night a couple of times to check. This happens every year and yet, there I was as excited as a kid checking on the arrival of Santa Claus. What is it about the transformation of our environment from the dull colours of November to the purity of a fresh snow fall that creates such a feeling of – awe. Such a feeling of connection to the rhythm of our natural world.
