The First Snow of the Season

by Margaret on November 20, 2017

Walking with my camera early Sunday morning on new fallen snow is one of the moments in life I cherish, so there was no question when I woke to  snow on the ground of what I would do in the early morning before going to church.  Overnight the landscape was transformed from last week’s November scenery, where orange and green were so markedly juxtaposed, to this morning’s soft and quiet monochromatic winter atmosphere.    I feel this transformation even in the way I walk – more aware of the way my foot makes contact with and moves on the soft snow – and in the way I pay attention – there’s a quietness hanging in the air that draws me to listen. I think this is why I love winter so much – I feel so much more present.

Here are some photos of the duck pond near P8, the Sugar Bush Trail and Chelsea Creek.
