Slow Motion (Dunlop Picnic Field (2))

by Margaret on June 30, 2017

Earlier this week I returned to the Dunlop Picnic Field to explore the Chelsea Creek at this location.  It was very early in the morning so after following the path upwards past the water fall, and doing some rock clambering I sat beside the creek with my coffee simply gazing at it and letting my body feel its energies.  While the creek was flowing quickly and tumbling rapidly over the rocks, the longer I sat there the water began to take on a timeless nature – I was experiencing this water flow as it had been flowing over these rocks for ever.  I tried a variety of shutter speeds to capture this timeless experience and found a slow shutter speed creating a slow motion flow in the creek came the closest to replicating my experience.
