White Vastness

A pristine snow covered lake is such a beautiful back drop for this tall mature pine tree on the shore of Taylor Lake.  While I’ve often hiked to Taylor Lake and last summer camped here for a couple of nights, this was my first time skiing here.  I love experiencing the different moods and seasons of the Park so today, sitting on its frozen shore sipping tea and gazing out at the frozen lake I experienced a vastness not present when the shores are lined with greenery and the water reflecting the blue sky.  A vast bare winter season beauty.
