Trusting

It was one of those days when we admitted to each other that we wouldn’t be out hiking if we hadn’t already made the commitment to the other to go.  The first cold day with wind feels colder than ever, even though we know in our minds that in a few weeks this temperature would feel just normal.  So, with an overcast sky, winds blowing, and rain and snow predicted, we wondered what there would be out there that would redeem the day.  We trusted something would appear.

Standing beside this swamp enthralled with the patterns created by the surface ice lifted our spirits.  But seeing beautiful orange and yellow leaves dancing across the surface of the first ice of the season chased by the wind was a real treat.   Another day in the Park!  Smiles on our faces.
